What’s Javea about?

Visiting Jávea for the first time?

In this article we’ll tell you all the basics you should know about this magical village, including some of our favourite spots and to do’s!

You could say that Javea has three main areas, all within a short drive from each other. The lively Arenal Beach the most popular spot during summer months. The sandy beach is surrounded by many bars, restaurants and cafés. The sunsets are beautiful from here, with the sea and the Montgó as your background. Find yourself a spot in the sun, order a cocktail and relax. The Arenal is also the place-to-be during the nights. Many bars have live music every weekend, followed by a DJ that will lure you to the dance floor for sure. Some of our favourite spots:

Bambula:a stunning place that serves as a restaurant during the day and has the best parties at night. From flamenco to jazz, live music to DJ’s, there is always something to do.

Es Tapa Ti:This restaurant has some amazing quality tapas, always a good idea!

From the Arenal head north, following a stunning sea road, you will end-up in the port and it’s pebble beach. A magical place that is lively throughout the year. Here you can find many restaurants, cafés and small boutiques. The colours of the sea are always breathtakingly beautiful here. The port has the perfect combination of authentic atmosphere, comfort and fun. Some of our favourite spots:

Mira Luna:a beautiful tiny café in front of the sea with good coffee and fresh products, made with love!

La Taberna: In one of the side streets you will find this small place filled with locals. A good glass of wine costs basically nothing and is served with a platter of quality Jamón Iberico. Still hungry? Around the corner lays restaurant Tal Cual, a colourful tapas restaurant with tasteful dishes.

Cala Bandida: from this place you have stunning sea views over the bay. Our favourite for a sunny brunch!

From the port driving up the hill, you’ll reach the historical centre. It is filled with many lovely restaurants and bars, hidden in the tiny authentic streets. You’ll come across cathedrals and churches, all surrounded by the typical Spanish white houses. It’s the perfect area for a romantic date or to take in some Spanish culture. Some of our favourite spots:

La Cajita Azul:definitely a must-go! In one of the tiny streets you will find this hidden pearl. This tapas-restaurant has an amazing vibe and even better food. Make sure you reserve on time, because this place is always full.

La Rebotica: another tapas-restaurant that makes us very, very happy!

Outside of the three main areas there are many other amazing places to go to. We’ve selected two of them to check out:

Vall de Cavall:this amazing restaurant is stunningly located. Enjoy the view of the valley, mountains and horses passing by while eating high-quality food.

El Secreto del Tomato:a little piece of paradise. A beautiful and romantic place with again, great food…
