Nous avons organisé un week-end de visites à Javea en Novembre 2010 avec Emma. Elle s'est occupée de mon épouse et moi avec beaucoup de professionnalisme et avons visité plusieurs villas tout au long de la journée. Elle avait un regard critique et très objectif sur chaque bien visité, et son temps n'était pas compté. Lors du processus de décision, elle nous a très bien guidés sur les avantages et les inconvénients des quelques biens que nous avions gardés dans notre « short list ». Son expertise a été très importante tant sur la qualité du bien, que sa localisation ainsi et que sur le revenu locatif potentiel. La négociation a été menée par Emma avec le vendeur et s'est déroulée rapidement et avec respect des intérêts des deux parties.
L'achat de notre villa au mois d'avril 2011 s'est passée sans aucun problème et grâce à Emma et son équipe. Elle nous a même recommandés une « Legal office » pour s'occuper de la transaction. Buying a home in Spain should be treated with the same care and attention as one would when purchasing in your native country. The selection of an agent to assist in this is vital, and having lived in Javea for 9 years we took great care in selecting Emma at Villa Plots. We have worked with her for at least 2 years, to find our dream home. She has taken time and effort to understand our very particular requirements, listening to these and not trying to sell us any property, has kept in contact all the time if and in particular if she felt a suitable property had became available.

As a result of her direct effort and input, whilst she was not able to find us the right home, she was able to assist and advise on both the manner of negotiations, financing and general market information that proved invaluable. What to do, if one gets the (crazy?) idea of buying some property in Spain? You don't speak spanish, you don't know the market or how people do business, and you already worry about the notorious Spanish paperwork and bureaucracy. Well, in our case, from the many real estate companies at the Costa Blanca, we were lucky enough to choose Emma Higginsons 'Villas-Plots' as the agency, to guide us through and represent us at the entire process of finding and buying a house. With their help, it turned out to be an easy and relatively short procedure. After we found the villa of our dreams,  they took care of all the paperwork, assisted us at the notary, introduced us at the bank and at a fiscal consultant and helped us getting our NIE-numbers. 

Moreover, we were pleasantly surprised to find, that the proactivity and service of Emma and her team did not stop at signing the purchase contract. They changed over all the amenities for us e.g water, electric etc., found an interior designer, helped out with the  contractor and even came along to the store to look for new tiles!  

All in all, from beginning to end, it was one smooth ride. Keep one thing in mind though: be prepared to buy Emma a big bouquet of flowers when she is done!

My girlfriend and I fell in love with the Costa Blanca back in 2004 when we first visited Moraira to attend the wedding of one of my close friends.

After several further holidays and weekend breaks to Javea and the other surrounding areas over the next 2 years, we finally decided to purchase an “off-plan” property in 2006 through a large firm of estate agents who have since gone into liquidation.

As with hundreds of unfortunate UK property investors, we encountered numerous problems with the developers, which resulted in a 3-year legal battle to try to retrieve our deposit monies.  During this period, we were fortunate enough to make contact with Villas-Plots who interestingly enough were the agents who were selling a property we had viewed via another local agent in Javea.

Having both worked in sales back in the UK for many years; my girlfriend and I were keen to work with individuals who were not just interested in a “quick” sale and the commission cheque at the end of the sale.  We wanted to work with individuals who cared about their customers and thus took immense pride in their work.

Looking back on our first contact with Emma Higginson and her team at Villas-Plots, it is now fair to say that my girlfriend and I not only met the best (in our opinion) agent in the Costa Blanca, but we also made a true friend for life!!!

In short, we will always be extremely grateful to Emma for SO many things.  The most important of which is that we would probably never have finally retrieved our monies if it wasn’t for the help and support we received from her throughout an extremely difficult period.  She not only accompanied us to meetings with the developers but also referred us to a new firm of lawyers who within 6 months eventually successfully managed to retrieve ALL of the monies we had paid to the developers.

It is important to mention that all of the above was provided completely free of charge and we had not as yet purchased a property through Villas-Plots.  Indeed, we never ever felt any pressure to do so.

Thankfully, we were able to complete on a property purchase with Villas-Plots in October 2009.  Once again, we received 1st class service throughout the whole process from Emma and her team.  I am pleased to say that this service has even continued on a daily basis after our purchase, with Emma managing/organising the various works we have required to be done in our new home.

There are several hundreds of estate agents located in the Costa Blanca, who I am sure are doing an “OK” or “good” job, however I will always remain totally convinced that I could not/would not recommend any other firm of agents to anyone who is considering a home purchase in this area.

The service and continued support we have received from Emma and her team certainly goes well beyond what any individual would expect from an estate agent.  With this in mind, I would be willing to connect with anyone via e-mail (ron.rollock@btinternet.com) who wishes to either confirm or discuss our experiences further.
